Kumizhi Foundation Profile
Kumizhi Foundation is an organization that was established in 2010 in Tamilnadu. Kumizhi Foundation owes its existence to the dedication and hard work of Mr. Saravanan, who wanted to combat the growing poverty in villages and urban areas. It is a non-profit, secular and non-political organization dedicated to the mitigation of misery and poverty, and upliftment of the impoverished.
The primary objective of the organization is to engage in sustainable development techniques to empower the local rural communities, especially women and children. In the initial years it concentrated on non-formal adult education. Gradually Kumizhi Foundation has diversified its activities in other fields such as women and child development, children's education, health & nutrition, low cost sanitation, care & rehabilitation of the elderly and disaster relief & rehabilitation.

Journey of Sevai Semmal Kumizhi Saravanan
Sevai Semmal Kumizhi Saravanan has started his journey at the age of 17years, while he was in schooling he has serviced as NSS Leader leading a bunch of students to social service. His Unique Service Points are Plantation, Hygiene & Alcohol Free Zone. He has made lot of campaigns for cleaning government schools, government hospitals and public places. He has a bachelor degree and three masters degree. He has upgraded himself in doing social awareness programs and he has organized lot of camps such as eye donation camp, blood donation camp, and medical free check up camp.
He got inspired by the quote of Gandhi changes starts from himself and his own born village, so he started working on his own village for 2years while doing his under graduation but he has come crossed lot of obstacles, hindrances, and annoying situations and he is humiliated by local authorities so he decision to contest for president ship of his own born village named Kumizhi. Kumizhi doesn't have Basic amenities like Roads, Public Transportation, Water facilities, medical health centre & sanitation. Village has lot of Unemployment, poverty. He has brought Public Transport like bus, Roads, Water Facilities, Medical Health care centre with his continuous efforts and protests. Even he has been prisoned like King Maker K.Kamarajar.
He has donated his blood for 30 times like a monster and saved many lives. He has been awarded as “Sevai Semmal – சேவை செம்மல்” by Anbagam. He has built 115 Houses for his own village people and created area called “JJ Nagar” and supported with road facilities and water facilities and awaiting to provide 115 toilet facilities.
He has donated his own land of 5 cents to his village government school and waiting to develop basket ball ground for government school for benefit of students. He has made lot of facilities to the government school for benefits of student's worth of 1 Lakh. He has been honoured by lot of organizations with awards and certifications for his services to human kind. His services are recognized by NGOs, NPOs and Welfare Associations.
