Component 5 - Women Empowerment, Livelihoods and SHGs
Proposed Allocation: INR 70 Crore
Component Scope & Methodology
Women’s empowerment is a major programme pillar because rural poverty cannot be addressed without strengthening women’s income, confidence, safety, financial participation and decision-making. The trust objects allow women training centres, self-help groups, micro-credit development, income generation and economic rehabilitation. The DPR uses these objects to build a structured livelihood and SHG strengthening programme.
The project will support women through mobilisation, training, enterprise planning, equipment support, production groups, digital finance awareness, market linkage and mentoring. The emphasis shall be on sustainable livelihood, not distribution of items without enterprise follow-up. Any revolving fund, seed support or credit-linked support shall be implemented only with proper agreements, legal checks, accounting controls and donor approval.
Youth livelihood and employment support will be linked to local opportunities, vocational training, service enterprises, digital skills, micro-businesses, apprenticeship facilitation and placement/self-employment counselling. The Trust shall track training completion, enterprise creation, income change and sustainability.
